Travel Guide to wales
Wales is an extremely diverse country with a fantastic landscape. Wales is relatively small but there are literally hundreds of things to do and places to see here. Wales is situated in mid West Great Britain, bordered by England to the East and by sea in the other three directions. Wales has over 1,000 km of coastline. There are several islands off the Welsh mainland including Anglesey. The more highly populated areas are in South Wales for example Cardiff, Swansea Wrexham and Newport. Much of landscape in Wales is mountainous with Snowdonia being the highest.

The climate, in Wales like most in Great Britain is temperate. The summer months are probably the best time of the year to visit as it will be generally warmer and drier. The winter can be very wet but the temperature usually stays just above freezing.

The bars and clubs in Wales are the hub of social life. There are many choices of places to meet, chat, eat and hear live bands or choirs, or even a Welsh Folk Group. Llandudno's North Wales theatre, is home to live music, West End Shows and various local productions. Also worth checking out is the Clwyd Theatre in Cymru, near Mold; another cultural hot spot offering a blend of classical and contemporary theatre. Gwynedd Theatre in Bangor often showcases art-house films, operas, musical and film festivals.

For those wishing to experience the culinary delights of Wales, you simply cannot visit without sampling the selection of Welsh Lamb and the various cheeses produced here. There are also many Welsh beers to sample and more than 20 vineyards producing good quality wines.
