The spacious open-plan living area has exposed stone walls and original oak beams.
The kitchen area has a range of fitted cupboards and is very well equipped . The dining table seats 4-6.
French doors open from the living room onto the spacious paved terrace which is bathed in afternoon sunshine. It provides a private location for sunbathing or relaxing with a good book, and with the barbeque closeby it is perfect setting for an aperatif or al-fresco meal.
There are two bedrooms and a shower room on the first floor. Both bedrooms are carpeted and very comfortably furnished. They have electric radiator heating and both have lovely views over the gardens and surrounding countryside. All beds are made up for your arrival with crisp bed linen. Bath towels, hand towels and bath mats are supplied.
The mature garden surrounds the house and terrace giving great privacy. . The pool, surrounded by a paved terrace with sun loungers has a solar shower and security barrier.
A 25% deposit secures a booking with the balance due 6 weeks before arrival. Security deposit to cover damage/breakages of 150 Euro payable on arrival.
The many chateaux in the area, ranging from fairytale ( like Chateau des Milandes, Chateau Losse ) to flambuoyant ( like Hautfort) to medieval fortifications ( like Beynac and Castlenaud), rival those of the Loire Valley.
Where prehistory is concerned, the Dordogne and Vézère valleys are in a league of their own. Exceptional sites at Lascaux, known as the "Sistine chapel of prehistory" because of its cave paintings
If you are a connaissuer of fine wines a trip to the vineyards at Bergerac and Cahors is a must. The whole area is known for the richness and quality of its food are there are many excellent restaurants, several with Michelin stars, where the foie gras, truffles, cabecou goats cheese and other delicacies can be enjoyed.

On your doorstep at Les Tournesols: Canoes and kayaks are available for hire just 100m from the house. There is a small river-side beach just 200m away where you can enjoy picnicing, sunbathing, paddling and swimming in the clean safe water of the Dordogne. The wonderful 9 hole golfcourse at Rochebois is less than 2 miles away and all equipment can be rented. Walking and cycling can be enjoyed on the many public footpaths and country lanes in the area ( bike hire available locally). For a special occasion why not rent a hot air balloon or view the chateaux and the river valley from a small plane.
Stroll along the river bank and country lanes. Dine in the local restaurants in the village (250m) or take a picnic to the beach ( 150m away) and enjoy a wonderful al-fresco lunch. Why not rent a canoe and drift downstream, soaking up the wonderful atmosphere of the many chateaux and pretty villages en route?
