Nikos House is our beautifully restored Cretan traditional house full of immense character, but with modern comforts. Our courtyard garden is extremely pretty and secluded . It is perfect for a relaxing time as is the huge sun terrace with fantastic views.It is in the centre of a small village overlooking the White Mountains yet only 10 minutes drive to holiday beaches
There are lovely walks around the village and two local swimming coves 5 minutes by car. The village has 2 tavernas/kafenio and a pool bar.

Rental Condition
We have tried very hard to price the house to reflect the current financial situation! it is a large lovely house and we think it is a bargain ! We would require a 50% deposit on booking, with the balance due 6 weeks before departure, payable by bank transfer in GBP We are not asking for a damages deposit but ask that you respect our home and report any breakages.

You will find local beaches 10/15 minutes drive from the house in Alymirida where there are watersports on offer and Kalyves with its shops and cafes and long, uncrowded beaches.
20 minutes away Georgioupolis has more good beaches and tavernas with a "Little Train" tour of the area and boat trips across Souda Bay to Marathi Beach on the Akrotiri .Lake Kournas, nearby, is a fresh water lake with good tavernas and pedalos on the water.
Chania Town, the old capital of Crete, is a wonderful town with a great Venetian harbour and plenty to see and do. Rethimno, going east ,offers a beautiful Turkish fortessa, good shopping and a vibrant market on Thursday and Saturday mornings.
Futher afield , near Heraklion, you will find the ancient Minoan palace of Knossos, famous for the Minotaur - excursions can be booked locally.
Crete is also well known for the walking in the mountain gorges - Samaria and Imbros being the best known- again excursions can be booked in Alymirida and Kalyves.

Drapanos nestles below Mt Drapanos, overlooking the White Mountains and above Souda Bay.It is one of many small inland villages but 10/15 minutes from local beaches.
The weather in Crete is good for most of the year, with long sunny spring and autumn days and cooler evenings and hot Greek sun in the summer.
Crete is a fascinating island with a long history of occupation and many sites of interest, set in stunning mountain and country scenery.
There are lovely walks with great views from the house and 5/10 minutes in the car will bring you to lovely swimming coves with tavernas away from the crowds.
