Summer in Courchevel is great to. In July and August temperatures often reach 30 C. But cooler in the evenings due to being at altitude 5,000ft. The main cable cars and lifts work throughout July & Aug taking you and possibly your mountain bike to the summits. There is also in & outdoor swimming,Ice skating, walking, rock climbing (walls) paintballing, areal runways, tennis, golf 9 hole, archery, rafting, paragliding etc. Courchevel has its own ALTIPORT for a spectacular flight over the areas. The ski area of 1550 has now been fully opened with 1850 having two brand new(2007) runs which run from the top of the Saulire and the other top stations of 1850 down to 1550. Just a short walk from the Chalet downhill some 200 mts takes you to the 6 man chair which links directly with 1850, or take the bubble to La Croisettet of 1850. At the end of the day stop off at 1850 and then ski to within 50 mts of the Chalet. The Chalet is perfectly placed for a quick arrival into Meribel, La Tania or the entire 4 valleys. If you are running late on lifts from say Val Thorens, there is no need to decend from the Saulire, return via the shorter route of Meribel. The skiing is vertually unlimited and simply fantastic. Enjoy.
