The small Italian border with Porto Ceresio is a few kilometers along the lakeside, with good access to Varese, Ponte Teresa, the other Italian lakes and Milan International airport, Malpensa (50 minutes). The city of Lugano is 20 km away, about a 25 minute drive around the lakeside. The area has good motorway access to the north of Switzerland through the San Gottard Tunnel and to the south to Milan (an hour by train / car) and the rest of Italy! In addition to Lake Lugano, the area boasts Lake Como to the south, about 20 minutes away, and Lake Maggiore to the west, about 40 minutes away. The second Milan International airport, Linate, is an hour from Brusino Arsizio. Milan's third airport in Bergamo, is one hour and twenty minutes away. You can be eating a bowl of pasta in Portofino on the Italian Riviera, or enjoying the amazing experience of an Opera at the Coliseum in Verona within 2 ½ hours of leaving Casa Melita.
