Summer skiing season gets underway

As the summer season begins and millions of holidaymakers head off for their preferred summer breaks, several European glaciers are opening up for summer skiing.

Ski lovers will be skiing their way into France over the next few weeks to stay in holiday villas and vacation accommodation, as the ski season takes off with a bang.

Following the reopening of Les Deux Alpes last week, the glacier summer skiing slopes of Tignes followed suit and reopened this weekend, reports Easier Travel.

The famous ski resort of Val-d'Isère, which is scheduled to host the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 2009 is also expected to open its slopes for glacier skiing from June 28th.

Meanwhile holidaymakers planning to drive into France should take note of new rules, which will now require them to have a warning triangle and a high-visibility security vest.

The new law comes into effect on July 1st and will affect all motorists that use the country's roads, regardless of nationality.ADNFCR-1687-ID-18663151-ADNFCR
