Rent out your cottage in Devon and attract 'staycationers'

As staycations are increasing in popularity it may be a good idea to rent out your cottage in Devon in order to make money.

In a new survey by R3, a trade body for insolvency professionals, it was found that more and more British holidaymakers are choosing to stay at home.

It found that 56 per cent of UK consumers were planning on holidaying at home rather than going abroad this year in order to save money.

Therefore, you could rent out your cottage in Devon to people planning to spend the summer break in the UK as accommodation is likely to be in demand.

Frances Coulson, vice president of R3, said: "The fact that so many people will be holidaying in the UK is good news for the domestic tourism and leisure sector which has been badly hit during the downturn."

This could be the reason why Devon has recently experienced a surge in the number of last minute bookings it is receiving.

According to VisitDevon, tourism businesses in the county have witnessed a 57 per cent increase in their bookings for the rest of the year.ADNFCR-1687-ID-800007855-ADNFCR
