Peak season in the Cote d'Azur 'provides great holidays'

The Cote d'Azur, although it becomes hot and full of people in the summer months, has been described as a perfect holiday destination if the right property is found, Nigel Tisdall writes in the Telegraph.
It is "crucial" to look at the right holiday home, the news source claims. Holiday lettings can be found with "commanding vies over Grasse and the shimmering coast beyond", while villas in this area make the most of the sunshine and breezes, with art deco three-floored designs in some places.
"Our graceful living room could easily have featured in one of Matisse's through-the-window paintings, while the gardens and terrace were a sensual array of lemon, fig, olive and oleander trees," Tisdall writes.
As much fun as the buzz of the busy beaches in the region may be, for those who would enjoy a bit of quiet respite, 'pockets of calm' such as Zplage, a private beach club, may be the answer, or a stroll through the sculpture garden of Fondation Maeght.
Aix Les Bains was recently highlighted as a great holiday spot by the Telegraph, since it offers beach and ski opportunities.
