New motoring law to be effected in France

Holidaymakers who plan to drive to France for a ski holiday or to experience some of the country's villas have been warned new rules will now require them to have a warning triangle and a high-visibility security vest.

According to Ski World, the new regulations which come into effect on July 1st
will affect all motorists that use the country's roads, regardless of nationality.

It will be mandatory for motorists to have the two items intended to reduce the risks of accidents in the event of a breakdown or emergency.

And those who flout the rules risk being charged €135 (£107), though the fine will only apply after October 1st. Before then, a verbal warning would be issued.

Motoring expert Quentin Willson recently warned drivers to beware of unusual regulations when abroad.
