Fresh snow still falling in the Alps

France is still said to be welcoming skiers, despite the time of year, with fresh snow continuing to fall on the Alps.

According to skiinfo.com, there is still plenty of the white stuff for skiers and snowboarders to enjoy - particularly those who are up early before the snow turns to slush.

France's three remaining summer ski centres are all open at Les 2 Alpes and neighbouring Tignes and Val d'Isere and ski chalets continue to welcome sporty holidaymakers.

For those who want to enjoy the Alps but are not looking for a ski holiday, many of the lower resorts remain open for hikers during the summer.

Tourists can hitch a ride up the mountain on a chairlift and then enjoy the descent taking in the spectacular alpine scenery.

Earlier this year, Tignesnet.com reported that Val d'Isere had pledged to follow the lead of Chamonix in making efforts to ensure its pistes are clear of rubbish - making it even more attractive to holidaymakers.ADNFCR-1687-ID-18690649-ADNFCR
