Florida the 'one to watch' for holiday homes

Holiday home sales in the area have increased but the numbers are still down from this time last year.
According to Adam Samuel, director at Nubricks.com, an online overseas property resource, people are still being cautious when it comes to buying a home in the US.
He said: "Florida is one of those markets where there are actually sales happening – certainly from foreign buyers."
Furthermore, he attributes the increase in property sales in Florida to consumers travelling out there and finding what they want for a reasonable price.
Mr Samuel added: "Florida is the one to watch, but the broader market of the US is still going to take a long time to recover."
According to the US Census Bureau and Department of Housing and Urban Development, new home sales increased by 23.6 per cent in June 2010.
However, this is still 16.7 per cent lower than the number of sales made in June 2009. The average price for purchasing a new property this year is £157,100, reports the US Census Bureau.
