Credit crunch not putting holidaymakers off

Over the last few months the credit crunch has become a household topic with its negative effects constantly making headlines but this is yet to dissuade holidaymakers from visiting places like France for skiing, a study has claimed.

Some 75 per cent of respondents in a survey carried out in Leeds city centre on August 22nd stated that the credit crunch will not stop them taking a foreign holiday this year.

"It hasn't put me off this year, but I think it might next year," said 22-year-old John Henderson. His views were supported by another respondent, Sylvia Evans, 62, who said: "It did make me think twice, but didn't actually put me off."

The results mirror those received from an online survey carried out by kayak.co.uk, which highlighted how important holidaying is to Brits.

According to the survey, 90 per cent of respondents listed holidaying at least once a year as one of the five most important factors that contribute to their overall happiness.ADNFCR-1687-ID-18749758-ADNFCR
