Credit crisis 'not crunching British holidays'

Britons may not be willing to forfeit their summer holidays this year in the face of the current economic slowdown, it has been reported.

According to the Times, there are several ways in which to save money on going abroad.

"Just because you're tightening your belt, however, doesn't mean you have to settle for a squalid caravan in Skegness," writes the publication's Stephen Bleach.

Among the options put forward is renting a holiday villa in France. By searching online, holidaymakers can find the perfect holiday home in France, with the opportunity to have a large family holiday on the cheap in beautiful rural spots.

Camping and home swaps are some of the other options available to Britons, with the latter option enabling householders to take a holiday in the home of someone else abroad, with a popular location being Paris, France.

The French property market is currently "buzzing", according to another Times report, which highlights the fact that Britons are continuing to buy holiday homes in France despite the poor economic conditions in the UK.
