Bulgaria 'ideal for hassle-free travel'

Holidaymakers looking for a hassle-free European break this year, may wish to consider Bulgaria as a potential destination.

According to the New York Times's travel section, cited on novinite.com, Bulgaria is "a land of great beauty", with rugged mountains, fertile plains and lush valleys.

Described as a safe and hassle-free country, it may be the perfect place in which to rent a holiday home this year.

"Not as touristy as its neighbours, Greece and Turkey, Bulgaria today is a Bulwark of Balkan culture … with impressive mosques, very rustic villages, flamboyantly decorated churches and an enduring folklore," the news source states.

The country's climate is ideal for a summer break on the Black Sea coast, while its "bitterly cold" winters make renting ski chalets in Bulgaria a great opportunity for skiing breaks.

Indeed, Bulgaria's ski resorts have recently been acknowledged since the country is to host the FIS World Cup Downhill women's slalom races in 2009.
