Brits 'keener than ever' to buy abroad

More and more people are considering buying a property abroad, it has been claimed.

FC Exchange has claimed that the downturn in the British property market has not put UK investors off purchasing foreign properties.

It claims that it has signed up more people planning to buy houses overseas, potentially including holiday homes to rent in Bulgaria or gites in France, during April and May this year than any other time in the past 12 months.

Nick Fullerton, managing director of FC Exchange, explained how the current economic climate may work to investors' advantage.

"People appear to be keener than ever to buy property abroad and are looking for ways to tame the highly volatile currency markets to ensure they get the best deal when they invest in the next property hotspot," he said.

Similarly, it was recently revealed that more people are holidaying in France, since the country has been named the second most popular holiday destination by American Express.
