'More Brits opting for driving holidays in France'
According to research conducted by American Express, France has been named as the second most popular holiday destination, which may bode well for those with holiday homes to rent in France.
In addition, many tourists are opting to drive to France, with one in ten UK travellers considering taking their family on a driving holiday.
Chris Rolland, head of American Express Insurance Services, explained that taking the family on a holiday in the car or caravan is a good option for those who lead busy lives.
"For many hard working Britons it seems there are simply not enough hours in the day," he said.
"For some, long working days means that they don't want to waste any more time than necessary with long check-in times," he concluded.
The company recently revealed that, despite the ongoing economic slowdown, over one in three people expressed their determination over having a holiday this year.
